The company needed to keep track of thousands of items passing through its supply chain, receiving, storing and despatching from its centralised distribution centre. Wm. Morrison plc serves 11m UK customers weekly in 500 stores and via its its online delivery service. Due to high pre-Christmas volume in its 105,000 sq.ft Winsford, Cheshire meat processing plant, and at short notice, it needed to set-up an alternative chilled warehouse operation.
